Vedettes de l’Odet
Description
The Vedettes de l'Odet ‘Nature in the spotlight!’
Climb aboard the Vedettes de l'Odet for a cruise and discover the most beautiful maritime sites in southern Brittany: from the Glénan archipelago to the Odet river, passing by Concarneau bay.
The Odet River: The prettiest river in France!
Departing from Bénodet, travel up the Odet River to Quimper. Along the way, you will see splendid charming residences. Kerembleis Castle, the Rosulien Manor, Pérennou Castle and its magnificent park with its hundred-year-old trees, not to mention the Lanniron Orangery and its French gardens. The commentary provided by your enthusiastic guide will transport you back to the days of the castle lords with surprising anecdotes. A real discovery of Cornouaille.
The lush nature bordering the Odet offers a peaceful, bucolic setting. Its wooded banks, between thorny forests and rhododendrons in bloom in spring, offer a true palette of colours, all overlooked by numerous sea and river birds such as little egrets, grey herons, terns and even the common shelduck. The Grande Croisière Promenade cruise allows you to discover all the secrets of this unspoilt area.
From Bénodet to Sainte Marine, all you have to cross is the Odet, which is so much more enjoyable aboard the P'tit Bac.
It's an opportunity to relax in one of the two ports or hike along the GR34. It is also possible to cross the Pont l'Abbé river between Loctudy and Ile Tudy to enjoy the gentle way of life in the Pays Bigouden, from one port to another.
The Glénan Islands: The must-see destination in southern Finistère!
A day or half-day trip to the Glénan archipelago is like travelling to a dream island with no time difference. Here, the turquoise waters and sandy beaches offer a change of scenery reminiscent of distant islands, hence the nickname ‘the Caribbean of Brittany’!
After an hour's crossing, the boat docks on Saint Nicolas Island, the capital of the archipelago. The setting is idyllic and no one lives there permanently. Saint Nicolas is home to a few second homes, the International Diving Centre, the Glénans Sailing School and two café-restaurants.
Concarneau Bay: One of the most beautiful bays in Brittany!
A city of art and history, Concarneau is famous for its walled town and its Festival des Filets Bleus. But it is also a seaside town waiting to be discovered.
Set off on a one-hour cruise with a guide and visit Concarneau from the sea. After casting off from the fishing port, you will sail around the walled town and the marina before heading out into the bay. Here, you can enjoy a 180° view of the ocean, from the Pointe du Cabellou to the Pointe de Beg Meil.
The Concarneau-Beg-Meil ferry service takes you to the Fouesnant region in 30 minutes. The small, traditional port of Beg-Meil, with its sandy coves, coastal path leading to the semaphore and authentic village, is sure to impress. When you board at Beg Meil, it is very easy to stop off at Concarneau to visit the large Friday market and enjoy the summer entertainment in the fortified town. Leave your vehicle at Beg Meil and make getting around easier!
Hikers can admire the beauty of the Breton landscape along the GR34 coastal path.
Over a distance of around 20 kilometres, you will have the opportunity to discover the Cap Coz headland, the pontoons of Port-la-Forêt and the Saint Laurent cove.
Ferry connections
Hop aboard the P'tit Bac to travel from one shore to the other!
From Bénodet to Sainte Marine, all you have to cross is the Odet, via the Cornouaille bridge or, better still, by boat for a short trip on the colourful sea.
From Loctudy to Île Tudy, the pedestrian ferry is very convenient for bypassing the Pont l'Abbé river and travelling from one port to another in the Pays Bigouden.
The P'tit Bac crossings are easy, fast, fun and accessible to pushchairs and bikes for our hiking and cycling friends and families with children.
Make your travel easier and enjoy a short boat trip!
